Move Server/Folder

Update Configuration File - Moving server/folder

Settings - Moving Server/FoderFor various reasons, including upgrading servers to new OS versions, you need to move the location of the Auto FE Updater and the configuration files.  Usually this would require moving the location of the BE data files and the location of the FE and associated files

At this point the new server should be setup and working as well

You may also just want to move the location of the Auto FE Updater.

The problem is that the shortcuts the users already have installed are pointing to the older server.  These settings are only applicable in the old location. The Auto FE Updater will, upon reading these entries, immediately shift to the new location and/or update the StartMDB.exe path in the shortcut the user is using.

New Configuration Path And File   (optional, seldom used, only in the old configuration file)
This line is only used when moving servers or such as this will rewrite the path and name of the configuration file in the target of the shortcut.   This is only placed in the old configuration file. Frequently used in conjunction with the New Start MDB Path And File setting.

New Start MDB Path And File (optional, seldom used, only in the old configuration file)
This line is only used when moving servers or such as this will rewrite the path and name of the StartMDB exe in the target of the shortcut.   This is only placed in the old INI file. Frequently used in conjunction with the New INI Path And File setting.

Note:  You do not need these settings in the new configuration file.  Just the old one while the users have the Auto FE Updater move to the new locations.
